Bowhunting Equipment & Skills
Combining the knowledge of many great bowhunters, including G. Fred Asbell, M.R. James, Dave Holt, and Dwight Schuh from Bowhunter magazine, the book is about as comprehensive as you're going to find.
If it's something you need to know, then the book probably has it in it. In the book you'll be able to learn what to look for when buying a bow, arrows, broadheads, arrow rest, mechanical release, bowsight and quiver, and find how to make your setup ready for hunting.
You'll also be able to tune your skills by learning proper techniques such as stance, draw, anchor, release, and follow-through for shooting compounds, recurves, and longbows. It also covers how to estimate range and control target panic.
The book features fantastic full-color, and many full-page photos. Most of the photos are taken to complement the text and give a great visual to what the books is teaching. With 128 pages, the hardcover book is perfect for the coffee table, or your outdoor library.
As an excellent example of the great writing in this book, I'm included an excerpt from the introduction written by Dave Canfield:
"Bowhunting. There's nothing like it. Seasons of numbing cold, blazing heat, throbbing muscles, endless hikes and countless frustrations all become worthwhile in one glorious heart-stopping second. A magnificent animal is so close that a single breath or blink of an eye will spook it. It appears - as if by magic - in a spot you've watched for hours. Or it approaches from a distance, giving you time to make ready. It doesn't mater - the thrill's the same, and at this moment it all comes together. It's time for the shot."
Whether you're an experienced bowhunter, or just getting into the sport, the Bowhunting Equipment and Skills Book is a great way to get additional information about your favorite outdoor sport.
